Mary Heeps died on Saturday at the Caledonian Court care home in Larbert and the matter is being treated as “unexplained” by police officers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Forth Valley are currently investigating the death of an 87-year-old woman, who died at a nursing home on Victoria Road, Larbert, on Saturday, April 10.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”

Reportedly officers are looking at the possibility of an overdose of morphine being the cause of Mary’s death.

A notice in this week’s Falkirk Herald states grandmother Mary, also known as May, died after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.
