Police investigating canal death

Police are carrying out inquiries around the public tow path along the Forth and Clyde Canal at Patterson Place in Bonnybridge following the incident which happened at around 12.30pm this afternoon.

The woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, but was sadly pronounced dead.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers are still in attendance at the scene and are asking the public to avoid the tow path while inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing. Your patience is appreciated.”
