Police helicopter circles Grangemouth after reported hit and run

Residents in Grangemouth witnessed a police helicopter hovering low over the area just before 9.30pm searching for person or persons unknown.

The Falkirk Herald contacted Police Scotland after reports surfaced that there had been a hit and run incident and the helicopter was searching for suspects.

A police spokesperson confirmed a police helicopter was patrolling the area but would not give a reason why.

The helicopter moved through the Bowhouse Road area and circled over Kersiebank Avenue for around half-an-hour using a searchlight to scan the ground below.
