Police chief tries to ban booze at children's party
Police Scotland boss Phil Gormley QPM objected to an application from Stenhousemuir Cricket Club for a provisional licence to sell drink at the celebration to mark the youngster’s first birthday.
In a letter to Falkirk Council Licensing Board the country’s top cop said he did not think “it was right” to have alcohol available at the function planned for next month.
