Falkirk Council has lodged a planning application to build its new £21 million headquarters.

In the final design put forward the original four storey has been reduced to three levels with the overall height of the build cut by 3.8 metres.

A bid to demolish the Westbank Clinic at West Bridge Street to make room for the project has also been submitted and both expected to be considered by the planning committee early next year.

The new home for hundreds of council staff will be a single building but consist of three blocks - one on the west side of the site nearest Falkirk Town Hall and one on the east side next to Wellside Place - with an atrium in the middle.

It has also been confirmed the latest report on the possibility of relocating the town hall to Middlefield will be considered at a full meeting of the council in December.
