The free event set off at 6.30pm on Saturday with the historic Callendar House as a backdrop to the stage where performers from Falkirk Youth Theatre, the Patryns and 5 Strings entertained the massive crowd.

The stage was also beamed onto the house through two giant screens so those at the back furthest away from the stage could see the action.

Excitement grew at 7.30pm when a countdown led into the first explosion of colour which lit up the Falkirk sky for the next half hour.

It was a fantastic night and congratulations are in order for Falkirk Community Trust for bringing such a brilliant event to the residents of Falkirk free of charge.
