The event is the highlight in the activity scheme that is provided for children and young people, aged four to 18, over the Easter and summer holidays where they can become more involved with their local community and learn new independence skills. It also gives families and carers a break and respite.

The gathering also included an exhibition of artwork produced by the youngsters, a disco, barbecue, games and activities.

Councillor Linda Gow, Falkirk Council spokesperson for health and social care, said: “Bringing together families, carers along with children and young people at this event shows the inclusive approach that is taken by the service to ensure that, as far as possible, everyone is given an opportunity to integrate into communities.”
