Work begins on new Larbert housing development near Forth Valley Royal Hospital

Plans to build 26 new homes in the Larbert area have been given the green light by Falkirk Council and work is now commencing.

Ochilview Developments application to demolish the former garage at 1 Old Bellsdyke Road and erect 26 flats and associated parking was granted by council planners working under delegated powers last month and work has now commenced on site.

The development premises will range from two storeys high to four storeys high, with the higher flats overlooking the adjacent North Broomage Roundabout and Stirling Road.

Ochilview Developments must pay the council £176,000 towards affordable housing in the area and a further £24,843 for open space provision.

In granting the application, the council stated it represented “an acceptable residential use within a former commercial site and is of a contemporary design which will provide a strong visual presence at this urban boundary location”.
