5. Ashley Kirk and Colin Scott
It was a magical day for Ashley Kirk and Colin Scott when they became husband and wife in a ceremony at Inglewood House and Spa in Alloa on July 30, 2022. The couple, who had met while working at Edinburgh Airport – Ashley as a flight attendant and Colin as an airport ramp supervisor, celebrated their special day with family and friends. They were joined by 90 guests during the day and a further 50 at night. Ashley and Colin had originally been due to marry in July 2021, but the pandemic delayed their big day. Ashley, 32, is from Bo’ness, while Colin, 38, is from Buckhaven. They now live in Falkirk. Ashley said: “Our day was everything we could have wished for and more. It was the best day of both our lives. If we could sum it up in three words it would be magical, romantic and exciting.” Photo: John Clark Photos
There was a surprise in store for one couple on their wedding day as they were joined by some unexpected guests. Tracy Sutherland, 42, and Steven Cartwright, 38, were married at the Anvil Hall in Gretna Green on October 12, 2022. They had expected only to be joined by Tracy’s children Cameron and Chelsea, Steven’s son Kaydn and Cameron’s girlfriend Jordan for the occasion. However, on the day there were some other family members there to surprise them. Tracy, an assistant manager, said: “It was the biggest surprise ever. Jordan was driving myself and Chelsea along to the Anvil Hall. Chelsea thought she saw my father’s car and I was like ‘don’t be daft, grandad won’t be here as he would be working’. When we arrived, Cameron was waiting outside to walk me down the aisle. I asked him if gran and grandad were there, he was like ‘no, course not’. When we were outside the doors the coordinator was talking me through what was about to happen. He said ‘are you ready to get married?’ I said ‘of course’ and he opened the doors. That’s when I saw my parents, sisters and aunty at the bottom of the 50 foot aisle. I sobbed the whole time walking down, as were my family." Photo: Alistair Lynne Photography
Tracy said: "Our day was so amazing, it was just what we both wanted. Our children were by our sides and the extra surprise of my family being there.” On returning home, Tracy and Steven, a security guard, celebrated their marriage with family and friends. They held a reception at the Oxgang House Hotel in Grangemouth on Friday, October 14 with around 80 guests. Photo: Alistair Lynne Photography
