Watch: Police cop flak for spelling error at Maddiston station

A sign at Maddiston Police Station had a particularly glaring spelling error which was captured by an eagle-eyed resident.

We all make mistakes – The Falkirk Herald has made more than a few which have been readily pointed out of over the years – but when you are in the business of laying down the law you have got to expect some criticism have got to get it right or expect some criticism.The offending sign, in the car park of the Main Road police station, proudly stated “Police Vehilces Only – No Unauthorised Access”.

Kevin Ashe, from Polmont, was dropping by to assist his mother, a Maddiston resident, on Wednesday this week and noticed the error, taking a picture of the mistake for posterity.

A new sign, with the word “vehicles” correctly spelled, was quickly put in place and Scot Squad – sorry – Police Scotland can now get on with protecting and serving the community.
