The Abbots Road premises, run by Falkirk Community Trust opened its doors this morning for those who had pre-booked sessions at the gym and pool.

The booking system enables the venue to trace everyone who attends and a one-way system – mapped out with signage – also helped keep staff and customers as safe as possible.

As per Scottish Government guidelines, swimming lessons for children were allowed to resume from today

Grangemouth Sports Complex opened its doors to customers for the first time in months as COVID-19 restrictions were eased further

Grangemouth Stadium’s gym has also reopened with scheduled sessions on the hour for 55 minutes, Monday to Thursday 5pm to 9pm. Customers must book in advance for all gym sessions.

Gym sessions also require users to wear face masks when they come in at first and when they are moving around the floor or moving between equipment.

Hand sanitiser stations are available throughout the facility and people must also wipe down the machines they use before and after use.

A spokesperson for Falkirk Community Trust said: “As of today, all of our health and fitness clubs have reopened for individual gym sessions. The opening hours remain the same.

"The pools at the Mariner Centre, Bo’ness Recreation Centre and Grangemouth Sports Complex have also reopened for health and fitness members and for public swimming.

“We have an online booking system for health and fitness members, who can book individual gym, swim or outdoor fitness sessions. In adherence with the Scottish Government’s Track and Trace recommendations, non-members and family swim sessions require to be pre-booked and slots can be reserved via telephone by calling the chosen venue directly.

“We have floor and wall signage within the venues for customers, as well as pop-up banners with information on COVID-19 safety measures in place, including hand sanitising, social distancing and the wearing of face masks.

"All of our venues have the VisitScotland Good to Go accreditation, having carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment ahead of reopening safely.”

Opening hours for facilities are 6.30am to 9.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday, with the exception of Bo’ness which closes at 9pm on Fridays and operates 8am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
