Debbie Muirhead had just completed a whirlwind tour of Falkirk area care homes – including Glenbervie and Newcarron – with 10 concerts in five days when she performed on the bandstand outside The Dundas pub in La Porte Precinct in Grangemouth last weekend.

Decked out in a Santa-esque red and white outfit, the singer performed a number of hits including Winter Wonderland and Rockin’ Around the Chritsmas Tree.

Debbie said: “I had played 52 concerts at 21 care homes earlier in the year and with the restrictions still being in place I posted on my site if anyone wanted me to do a Christmas concert between December 7 and December 11 I would do it.

“I just sang outside the pub as a wee bit of entertainment for everyone – we had children coming up and grabbing the sweets we had for them.”

Sadly the only sour note was the fact The Dundas has since closed its doors again.

A post on the pub’s Facebook page stated: “It is with profound sadness that we must announce our closure until Tier 1 for the Falkirk area. This is to ensure the safety of you all and help aid in the reduction in our local numbers.

“We thank you for all your support and continued custom. Hopefully not too much longer now.”
