Glenbervie Care Home, in Glenbervie Business Park, Bellsdyke Road, Larbert, has always pulled out the stops when it comes to looking after – and entertaining – its residents.

This year, with the COVID-19 pandemic to contend with, has been especially tough for all care homes and Glenbervie is no exception.

However, activities coordinator Laura Harris and the team, have made sure residents get into the festive spirit in as safe a way as possible, organising a visit from Santa and creating special Christmas cards for residents to send to loved ones.

Glenbervie’s unique mail delivery method – featuring the home’s ultra cute, and very small mail van – has been captured on a Facebook video which shows the Glenbervie van trundling down corridors and then out into the streets to post the cards, with musical accompaniment from the classic It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.

Laura said: “The response we have got from our video has been absolutely fantastic. Our maintenance man converted the mobility scooter and we all loved it so we decided to do a special reveal for the van and that’s where the video came from.

“You should have seen the looks we got when we drove it down Bellsdyke Road.”

Back in May Glenbervie allowed residents to enjoy some light relief from COVID-19 concerns with some socially distant live musical performances and ice lollies on a beautiful sunny day in the home car park.
