As a result, their foot-tapping selection of traditional and modern tunes, presented with the backing of other members of the band who grabbed the chance to bring their pipes along to the party, went down a storm.
Hotel staff even streamed Claire and Steven playing live and had a few thousand likes shares and comments about the bride playing the bagpipes in her wedding dress!
Claire (25), a support services assistant, and Steven (31), who works as a joiner, have the band to thank for bringing them together in the first place.

Proud mother of the bride Karen Malcolmson said: “Claire was 12 when she joined the band, originally as a drummer but then moved on to learn to play the bagpipes. Steven helped her a lot with that and things just went from there.
“We all thought it was a great idea when they said they wanted to celebrate their wedding day by playing the pipes for their guests and it all went off brilliantly.”
