Tragic news as 56-year-old man injured in Grangemouth dies in hospital

A man who was in “critical condition” after being found injured in a street in Grangemouth has sadly died.

The 56-year-old was discovered in Abbots Road just before 6am yesterday and emergency services personnel were quickly on the scene. The man was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries earlier today.

Police cordoned off the location, near Newlands Road, known as the Happy to Chat area following the incident and were conducting an investigation.

However, officers stated there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detective Inspector Robert Andrews said: “Around 5.45am on Thursday, May 13, we received a report that a 56-year-old man had been found with injuries in the Abbots Road area of Grangemouth.

"He was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he passed away today, Friday, May 14.

"We have concluded our enquiries into the circumstances and can confirm the incident is not being treated as suspicious. Our thoughts are very much with the man's family and friends."
