Is there a way Falkirk residents can actually celebrate Hogmanay?

In an unprecedented year of pandemic panic and long lockdowns the end is finally nigh but there does not appear to be much we can really do to mark the passing of 2020.

The current COVID-19 restrictions mean people will not be able to gather in large groups in Glasgow and Edniburgh as they would normally do to enjoy live music and beverages aplenty.

And with pubs shut it certainly looks like the streets of Falkirk will be as quiet as they ever were on the evening of December 31.

Having said that there is still the good old telly and the chance to see in the New Year with your nearest and dearest – because they are they only people we are allowed to have contact with.

The word “virtual” has become important in 2020 and, while we may not be able to go out in the cities ourselves, there will be plenty of “virtual” celebrations and displays we can view online.
