After the removal of the lure and a check over, the swan was released back to the lagoon to recuperate.

The lagoon was built as a wildlife haven and for recreational use, with the only exception of fishing.

You can report someone fishing to a member of staff or contact the police on 101.

Falkirk Community Trust, which operate the Helix. Home of the Kelpies, does not issue any form of permits to allow fishing at the lagoon.

It also asked everyone to be mindful of the environment, take your litter home, pick up your dog’s mess and watch out for wildlife.
