Stylish event supports hospice

The first-ever Falkirk Fashion Week was launched in style with a glamorous fashion show.

And, along with other events taking place, it provided a cash boost for Strathcarron Hospice.

The brainchild of Sisters Boutique owner Lauren Ferguson, the concept of a week celebrating fashion, retailers and businesses in Falkirk town centre quickly gained support.

Last Thursday evening models graced the catwalk in the Inchyra Hotel for the showcase Sisters for Strathcarron which saw a variety of this season’s clothing from the popular boutique.

The models’ hair was styled by Hair Dot Comb and their make-up by Debenhams, while all the audio visual support was provided by Tapstry.

A drinks reception was hosted by Behind the Wall before those attending enjoyed a buffet and a chance to view lots of good from businesses supporting the night.

A raffle during the evening raised over £2300.

Lauren said: “It was nerveracking beforehand but I was really pleased with the night and we have had nothing but praise for it. The fundraising is still ongoing as we have the diamond necklace auction and the closing party at BtW on Saturday which is going to boost the takings further.”

Behind the Wall is donating every £5 entry fee from the party to the Strathcarron fund and £1 from every Golden Drumstick cocktail is also going to swell the coffers.

The total currently stands at over £3500 and it is hoped this will be even higher by the time Fashion Week draws to a close for 2016.
