Stenhousemuir FC Community Help Initiative delivers 10,000th free meal

A Falkirk district-based support programme set up at the start of the coronavirus crisis to help those most in need has delivered its 10,000th free meal.

Stenhousemuir FC’s Community Help Initiative saw the club awarded Community Anchor Organisation status last year for its response to the pandemic.

The latest milestone for the project is one the club is rightfully proud of.

Stenny tweeted: “We’ve now delivered over 10,000 free meals to those that need it most in the Stenhousemuir area.

Since last March, its volunteers have also been there to hand out more than 11,000 school lunches in Stenhousemuir, Larbert and beyond and made 3000-plus shopping trips for the vulnerable.

Collectively, its helpers have spent more than 25,000 hours meeting the needs of local residents.
