A Shieldhill couple may have had to postpone their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but they still found a way to celebrate last week.

Jacqui Paterson and Tony Hughes had been due to get married in front of family and friends at Inglewood House in Alloa, but it was cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic.

However, despite the delay to their plans to tie the knot, they decided to have a wedding anyway in their own home with their two dachshunds taking on the roles of best man and bridesmaid.

Jacqui (34), who owns wedding photography business Chic Photo, captured her own day, including the exchanging of the rings and the wedding breakfast.

She even ordered a second wedding dress for the occasion so she can still surprise her fiance on their real big day – which has been rescheduled for September – with her original dress.

Jacqui, who specialises in relaxed wedding photography, said: "We are both self employed within the events industry so the pandemic has really affected our businesses and 2020 hasn't been great to us so far.

"We were gutted to have to rescheduled our wedding, and had the idea to throw our own wedding with just the dogs Max and Lola as witnesses and we had a fantastic champagne filled day.

"It was pretty surreal to be at home all day in a wedding dress - and doing the dishes must have given my neighbours a good laugh - but we had a lovely time and broke up the monotony of lock down life.

“I've really missed shooting weddings over the past month so had a great time editing my own images."

Tony (34), a tour manager in the music industry added: "Jacqui looked beautiful and seeing her for the first time as a bride took my breath away.
