The parents and three daughters – all from Bo’ness – scooped £1 million in the Lotto Millionaire Raffle on May 18.

And as they picked up their cheque at the MacDonald Inchyra Hotel in Polmont, they revealed this is the third time their family has enjoyed a big win in the National Lottery.

Peter (90) and Mary (86) Fry, along with daughters Margaret (64), Janet (59) and Isobel (57), play a family syndicate putting on five lines twice a week.

They were overwhelmed to win one of two £1 million Lotto Millionaire prizes.

However, Margaret won £20,000 on the Lotto Millionaire Raffle last year and Peter’s cousin Annette Brown (82) was the UK’s 2500th National Lottery millionaire when she won a £1,151,496 share of the Lotto jackpot in October 2010.

Margaret said: “My dad went down to Tesco on Saturday as normal and passed his tickets to get checked. The till operator advised him that he had won a ‘wee bit of money’ and it was too much to pay out in the store.”

But she said he never imagined it would be so much.

She added: “When we were told £1 million we were in such shock – my mum kept saying ‘a million?’ in such disbelief. It was the most amazing feeling?”
