Sainsbury's Bank staff raise £30,000 for Maggie's Centres

Sainsbury’s Bank colleagues in Fife have taken to their bikes and donned their trainers to raise vital funds for a network of cancer care centres

A total of 40 teams of five from across the UK got together and got active, travelling 500 miles and raising £500 per team in September, by going the distance by foot and on two wheels.

By the end of the month, they had clocked up 27,835 miles, and raised over £30,000.

Virtual teams were formed, enabling colleagues to provide motivation along the way.

Valerie Ross, head of fundraising at Maggie’s said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the team at Sainsbury’s Bank for taking on this brilliant challenge and thinking up such creative ideas to raise money for Maggie’s. Their efforts will allow us to continue to develop our high-quality programme of support for people with cancer and their family and friends across Fife, Edinburgh and Lothians.”
