Robert has gone from teen trolley wrangler to Falkirk Asda elder statesmen

A popular porter has been chasing down trolleys for Asda and literally going the extra mile to help out the store and customers for over 41 years.

Robert Galbraith, from Bonnybridge, joined the Asda Falkirk team when he was just 17 had has done a first class job inside and outside the premises.

He said: “I’ve loved working here – I’m glad I’m back outside again working with trollies where I started all those years ago. I’m still friends with a guy who used to work here 40 years ago, so it’s definitely been great for meeting people and making new friends.”

Asda service section leader Ross Gibbons said: “Pretty much everyone in Falkirk knows Robert – he's such a popular guy. He's a lovely man; very chatty, bubbly and extremely helpful.

“He's always speaking to someone. A few years ago, he used to go up and down to the bus station at Falkirk to collect trolleys, so he's very dedicated to his job."
