Police enquiries so far suggest he may have travelled to Edinburgh and then on to Berwick-on-Tweed by train.

It is possible he may be camping wild.

Sergeant Fiona Picken, of Falkirk Police Station, said: “It is out of character for Michael to be out of contact with family or friends for an extended period and he have concerns for his welfare as a result.

“We would urge anyone who may have seen him at any time since April 17 to let us know as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland by calling 101 and quoting incident 3309 of April 26.
