Pet of the week: Collie cross Leah from Bainsford

She’s been part of Jacqueline Cooper’s life ever since she was a puppy.

Jacqueline said: “She has helped me through my darkest moments she I couldn’t imagine a day without her.

“She rules the roost and is spoilt rotten.”

Just over two years ago Jacqueline sadly lost nine month old Springer Spaniel puppy Brogan and having moved in on her own for the first time and being used to having a dog around she had to get another one.

She said: “A good friend had told me about a Romanian rescue charity and I took time to look into what they did. I saw Leah’s wee face that was just crying for someone to save her. I couldn’t leave her there.

“She was so nervous when I got her and it took several weeks for her to gain my trust but now she is my best friend.”
