Parade and mass Highland fling mark 149th year of Airth Highland Games

Airth Highland Games may not have taken place at the weekend due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the organisers couldn’t let the day pass without marking it in some way.

Members of the annual event’s organising committee took part in a short procession at the village’s North Greens Park to mark what would have been the 149th year of the games. The committee were led onto the field by piper James Strathie of The Royal Burgh of Stirling Pipe Band before members of the Jenkins School of Highland Dancing took part in a mass fling.

Our photographer Michael Gillen was on hand to capture images from the occasion. The games committee will now turn their attentions to next year’s event, on Saturday, July 24, 2021, which will be the 150th event.
