Open day to mark 45 years of Bo'ness Fire Station
All the family are invited to join firefighters as they mark almost half a century of supporting their community.
Bo’ness Fire Station and the crews based there are throwing open the doors to mark its 45th anniversary on Sunday, August 16.
From noon until 4pm on the day there will be free entry to the fire station in Crawfield Lane where everyone can enjoy lots of activities.
This will include a parade of vintage fire appliances to officially open the event, live demonstrations and an opportunity to try on real firefighter kit.

The crews will be joined by emergency service colleagues from Police Scotland, who will be bringing along their popular mounted division, and the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Other fun activities planned for the day include a beat the goalie competition, face painting, a raffle and tombola, as well as lots of food and refreshements.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: “We’re also incredibly proud to be raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity and Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, so every raffle ticket, burger and donation will make a real difference.
"Whether you’ve lived in Bo’ness all your life or are visiting for the day, we’d love to welcome you to celebrate 45 years of Bo’ness Fire Station serving our community.”
Bo’ness Fire Station was officially opened on July 23, 1981.
It currently is a mixed wholetime and retained (on-call) unit serving the Falkirk and West Lothian areas. In December 2020, the facility was expanded to also house local Scottish Ambulance Service staff and vehicles.
