The long-standing family event, which has been enjoyed by local people for well over 100 years, normally takes place in the third Saturday in June, but now organisers have been forced to move the date back to Saturday, August 22 due to current COVID-19 restrictions.

Bowhouse Primary School P6 pupil Amy Meichan (10) had been due to be crowned in Zetland Park on June 20, but now she will have to wait a couple of months – if restrictions are lowered by that time – until she can enjoy that honour.
