The incident happened yesterday afternoon when three teenagers were seen to smash glass bottles at the top of the play park’s large chute and then leave the shards lying on the piece of play equipment.

A spokesperson for Falkirk Community Trust, which operates the park, said: “We were made aware of broken glass being found in the play park area of the Helix Park last night after a member of the community contacted Police Scotland.

“The area has been thoroughly cleared this morning to ensure the play park is safe for use today. Customer safety is of prime importance to us and we ask visitors who see any inappropriate behaviour in our parks to contact Police Scotland.”
