Live entertainment campaign aims to turn Falkirk and Scotland's towns and cities into red light districts

Nationally prominent premises including Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Scottish Opera HQ, and McCaigs Tower are just a few of the thousand venues across the UK raising awareness of the entire live events supply chain and Scottish jobs at risk.

Organised by leading industry trade association PLASA, the call to action hopes to raise awareness for over a million people in the industry at risk of losing their jobs in the next few weeks – 72 per cent of whom are self-employed freelancers.

Industry experts say the cancellation of Edinburgh’s five arts festivals is the biggest casualty for the events supply chain, and is threatening Scotland’s world-class reputation for events.

According to PLASA, research finds seven in ten businesses in the industry are set to run out of cash reserves in the next two months.

The finale of the event will be taking place on London’s South Bank, where a boat will carry industry players and journalists along the River Thames to witness the capital turn red.
