Luckily the damage caused by an overflow drain on Edinburgh Road was less than first feared.

Club president Laura Newman said: “We expected a lot of damage but we have not actually had to claim insurance. The field is really wet and i It did go into the foundations of the building but it dissipated very quickly.”
A Scottish Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: We were alerted from around 6.30pm on Thursday, August 27, to reports of significant flooding affecting parts of West Lothian due to heavy rain.

“Firefighters were in attendance at a number of incidents across Broxburn, Linlithgow, Ratho and other areas.”
