The petrochemical giant holds weekly tests of its onsite alarm system – on Mondays at 11.45am for the north side of the site and on Fridays at 11.45am for the south side of the site.
These alarms would be used on occasions when Ineos require those working on its site to muster at various points.

However, the company has said that there will be an additional testing of a new system on Friday, October 27 between 11.15am and 12.15pm.
As with the weekly testing, there is no requirement for members of the public to respond to the alarm as it is a test.

The MICC warning system is a Grangemouth-wide siren system, operated on behalf of all the member companies of the MICC (Major Incident Control Committee). It is tested twice a year on the first Wednesdays of June and December.
