In Pictures: Grangemouth Stadium packed as pumpkin propelled fun moves indoors

A witching hour venue change did not impact Grangemouth’s annual Pumpkins in the Park event as soggy conditions forced it to be come Squashes in the Stadium.

Simply horrific weather conditions of recent days forced the pumpkins to uproot from their usual venue Inchyra Park and roll the relatively short distance to Grangemouth Stadium in Kersiebank Avenue.

The event, organised by Friends of Inchyra Park, took place indoors on Halloween afternoon, giving youngsters the chance to pick up a pumpkin and enjoy themselves.

Grangemouth’s Banksy Donna Forrester travelled all the way from Kelty to do some ace face painting for youngsters on the day and there were slides, bouncy castles, stalls and, of course pumpkins – around 500 of them to give away, as well as 250 goody bags – throughout the event.

As you can see from Falkirk Herald photographer Michael Gillen’s magnificent photographs, it was another scary good day.
