Grangemouth is now a town without a post office

After the postal service in the Spar store in Charlotte Dundas Court vacated the premises earlier this year and the town’s main post office closed it’s doors at noon on Thursday, the nearest post office is now located in Polmont.
A message on the Grangemouth Post Office Facebook site stated: “We are relocating to a premises only 30 yards from our current premises. We will update you as soon as we can.”

Hide AdBefore that on Wednesday, March 31 the branch stated it was closing from noon on Thursday, due to unforeseen circumstances.
The York Square branch was forced to close in September last year following a COVID-19 scare when it emerged two staff members were both being tested for coronavirus.
Thankfully they both subsequently tested negative and the post office re-opened a few days later.
The town had been reduced to one postal branch back in February when Post Office confirmed the closure – which it stated was temporary – of the service in the Spar store.

Hide AdIt stated: “Regrettably, following the resignation of the operator of the partner service and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the branch at 17 to 20 Charlotte Dundas Court, Grangemouth will be closing temporarily on Saturday, February 6 at noon.
“We would like to assure you we are working hard to keep any period of closure to a minimum.”
