Steven Russell wed Ann Anderson on June 20, 1970 in St Ninians Parish Church, close to where the bride lived.

Their married life started in Denny and that’s where you will still find them running their successful businesses.

The couple, who live at Home Farm, met at a dance in Dunblane Hydro.

Ann said it’s hard to believe that they’ve been together for five decades as the years have flown by.

During that time the couple have not only been partners in life but also in work as they continued their business ventures working side-by-side.

They have three children – Archie, Johann and Donna – and six grandchildren who range in age from 23 to eight years.

Ann said: “I can’t believe it has been 50 years as it’s passed so quickly. We’ve both supported each other in everything that we do.”

One of the highlights was when The Princess Royal visited Home Farm in 1990 to officially open holiday cottages suitable for use by disabled people.

Their two daughters now help the couple run the popular Courtyard Coffee Shop on Drove Loan, Denny which they opened 11 years ago.

It’s currently offering outdoor dining and takeaways but from next week will have indoor dining again.

Although Steven (70) and Anne, who is 71 today, were unable to hold any golden wedding celebration due to the lockdown restrictions they plan to do that in the future.
