Falkirk's Emergency Services Day proves a hit with families

Falkirk town centre played host to the annual Emergency Services Day on Wednesday, July 15, with families turning out in force to meet the crews who keep the area safe.

The free event, organised by Falkirk Delivers, ran from 10am to 4pm on the High Street, with Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service all in attendance, giving youngsters and adults the chance to look inside police cars, ambulances, fire appliances and other emergency vehicles.

One of the town centre's most popular summer fixtures, the event gives families a fun, free, day out during the school holidays while putting a spotlight on the positive work that the emergency services carry out.

There was real life drama during one demonstration after Amber Watch firefighters were called away over a potential emergency, a reminder that even on a day dedicated to celebrating them, crews remain on standby for the real thing.
