The team relay event saw participants complete as many lengths as possible at the Grangemouth pool, all while raising funds for local charities.

Sunday’s event was held in aid of Strathcarron Hospice, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Young Carers and other local charities supported by Rotary.

Gillian Niven, from event sponsor Drummond Laurie, said: “We had a total of 25 teams participating, 150 swimmers and a massive 3206 lengths were completed.

“We had 13 school teams who all swam brilliantly, but the school with the most lengths was Dollar Academy with 199.

“The rest of the teams seemed to have great fun and there was a very competitive swim from the Grangemouth Lifeguards who managed 202 lengths but the winner was the Grangemouth Sports Complex for the second year running with a total of 214. Special mention to Alison Higgins, from Johnston Butchers, who swam 66 lengths herself for the second year running.”

With it proving a success once again, the date for 2021’s event has already been set – Sunday, February 28, 2021.
