Yvonne Wilson, from Larbert, remembers the July 30, 2018 crash well.

She said: “I was coming down Cockburn Street, heading towards Camelon from the traffic lights on the one way system and an out of town driver turned right from Glasgow Road up Tanners Road going the wrong way and smashed straight into me.

“I had a fractured wrist but the other driver ended up with pelvic injuries and had to be cut from her vehicle. The owner of a nearby shop told me someone drives the wrong way up that road at least once a week.

"He said it was lucky there weren’t more accidents.”

At the time Miss Wilson contacted Falkirk Council asking them to put more signs in place so something like this never happened again.

"They told me there was already adequate signage on the road,” she said.

Fast forward to this month – Saturday, March 6 – and another motorist turned the wrong way from Glasgow Road up Tanners Road and collided with a vehicle coming down the one way Cockburn Street.

A Falkirk Council spokesperson said: “While any accident is regrettable the signing at this location is compliant with the regulations and guidance for signing at one way streets.

“However, we will contact Police Scotland to obtain details of the accident. We will also assess whether there are any missing signs and whether any additional signs are required.”
