The days of not making a noise in libraries is long gone but next Friday, June 21 the Hope Street venue will be hosting an event as part of Make Music Day.
It is an annual celebration of music-making that takes place in communities across the world on June 21 each year.

Librarian Lynne James said: “It’s celebrated internationally, but it’s the first time we’ve tried this at Falkirk Library and we’re hoping it will be the precursor to some open mic nights and acoustic nights in the library.
"We’d love to hear from singer songwriters, choirs, singing groups, young people, older people. Anyone who makes music they can share acoustically.
"While we’re open on June 21 we’ll have local musicians playing in our lovely big atrium. We hope everyone will come out and support local music and local libraries.”

Lynned added: “If it’s possible, we’d love them to send us a wee clip of, or a link to, their music and rough time of when they can play.”
