Falkirk into Level2: Welcome boost for business community

Falkirk Council’s leader has welcomed news that the area is set to drop into Level 2 COVID restrictions.

The move out of Level3 was announced by Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister, and takes effect from Friday.

Councillor Cecil Meiklejohn, leader of Falkirk Council said: “It is a very encouraging sign.

“I know that this will be particularly welcomed by the business community where relaxation of the rules will allow easier trading for many.”She added: “We recognise that we have all endured a lot of hardship in getting to this stage.

"We must all continue to follow the common sense precautions on distancing, face coverings and hygiene to ensure we continue to drive own the infection rate even further so we can return to some degree of normality sooner rather than later.

“Everyone has their part to play in making sure that we continue to combat this virus, and we remain healthy as well as protecting those who are dealing with this on the front line.”
