Having been granted permission by council planners under delegated powers on February 26, Transport Scotland will now be able to demolish and then reconstruct as section of piled viaduct, construct a temporary Bridge, replace a safety barrier, refurbish timber jetties, replace the bridge drainage system, instal navigation lights and carry out general maintenance.

Kincardine Bridge opened in 1936 as a road crossing over the Firth of Forth.
