Falkirk Council confirms extended Christmas holiday for school pupils

Falkirk Council has confirmed that they won't be back in the classroom until January 18 COVID restrictions – two weeks later than scheduled as the district moves to Level4 lockdown restrictions..

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced on Saturday, school staff will provide online learning from January 11, which is expected to continue until January 18.

Falkirk schools had originally been expected to return on January 7 and all parents have been contacted by the education department with the new arrangements.

Key workers who do not have any alternative childcare can apply for a place in one of the hubs which will be open from January 7.

Parents wishing to apply for a place are asked to fill out the form which has been emailed to all.

They need to return it to their school by December 23 at 10.30 am.
