Annette Fargie sadly died at the age of 75 on Sunday, July 19, in Carrondale Care Home and just over a week later she received an amazing send off, complete with a horse drawn carriage and music from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

The Avondale Care Ltd run premises, located in Beaumont Drive near the River Carron, provides top class care for the elderly and people aged 18 and over who have complex needs.

Throughout the entire COVID-19 lockdown staff have been pulling out all the stops to ensure residents stay as safe as possible and have been coming up with innovative ways to get them thinking about anything but the coronavirus.

Staff at Carrondale Care Home ensured beloved resident Annette Fargie had a funeral fit for a princess

The way the staff handled the sad passing of Annette was another example of how much they care for the residents they look after day in day out.

Tracy Gallacher, care home manager, said: “Annette had been with us since 2008 – it was so sad because we all knew her so well. She had no family that we knew of so the people at Carrondale became her family.

“We all pitched in to get her the funeral she wanted. She loved nature and the colour pink – which is why we were all wearing pink – and she was such a big fan of Disney films so that’s why we had the coach.

“It was a lovely service and the celebrant talked about Annette as if he knew her.”
