Lisa Calder was desperate to find more tins of the supermarket’s Spaghetti Loops as it’s the only brand her son Duncan (15) will eat.

The mum posted on Facebook when she discovered only two tins left in her cupboards and the shelves empty at her local Asda in Livingston.

And when Asda Falkirk depot manager David Wilson heard about the mum’s plight he made it his mission to help Duncan, who has Down’s Syndrome, global learning delays and a sensory processing disorder.

After contacting every Scottish store he tracked down the last remaining tins in Arbroath and arranged to have them boxed up and send to Falkirk.

His colleague, warehouse manager Chris Walls, then volunteered to deliver them to the family’s home.

David said: “Our supplier had reduced the number of lines they’re making because of staff shortages caused by Covid-19. This is one of the particular lines they’ve dropped so they’ve stopped making them at this time.

“I knew there were none left from a business perspective, but I also thought if we can do this it would be amazing.”

Lisa was delighted at the unexpected delivery – and now has enough tins to last for a couple of months.

David added: “There were a lot of people involved in trying to get this resolved, from Asda Logistics to Retail and Asda House. Thanks to all involved to help us sort this.”
