A mum enjoying a Halloween night out, ended up in hospital after she was mauled by a vicious dog.

Vicki Pascazio from Denny was in Glasgow city centre on Saturday with two friends when they stopped to dance to a busker in Gordon Street. A woman started to harass the mum of two, pushing her to the ground and then a dog owned by a man attacked her.

The attack from an American Bulldog lasted several minutes, with Vicki, who was dressed as Batgirl, being dragged across the street. It took four people to get the dog off Vicki, a keen body builder, and she was taken to hospital.

Police are still hunting for the dog owner, who walked away with the beast following the attack on Saturday at 11.20pm.

The 27-year-old is now recovering at home, with friend Amie Miller who was also on the night out, moving in to take care of her and help with her two children.

Amie said: “It was horrific, the attack seemed to go on forever and the dog was incredibly strong. No one could get it off Vicki, she was dragged all over the street and was left absolutely drenched in blood.

“After the dog was finally pulled off, the owner just casually left like nothing had happened.”

Vicki was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was put on an antibiotic drip to reduce the risk of infection but doctors said the wounds on her buttocks could not be stitched up due to the likelihood of the dog bites getting infected.

The mum, who was hoping to compete as a bodybuilder next year and is a part time model, will be left with permanent scarring.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the incident.
