Camelon Juniors Social Club has been granted permission to change from a members’ club to a licensed premise in a bid to help it survive in the future.

The biggest change will be that the club is no longer limited to the number of functions it can host – up until now it has been limited to a maximum of 12 per year.

It also means that children and young people will be permitted for a limited time for hospitality when they are attending football matches at Camelon Juniors ground.

Children are also allowed on the premises while attending functions.

Members of Falkirk Council licensing board heard on Wednesday that the club committee had installed CCTV.

The board made it a licence condition that this equipment is maintained.

They also asked the club to look at improving its disabled access, particularly for children in wheelchairs who might need access to the club.
