Jayden Fulton (10) heard his grandfather Archie Pollock, a porter at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, say that there was a need for toiletries for patients who weren’t getting visitors.

The Easter Carmuirs pupil asked mum Donna Pollock if he could start a collection.

Along with sister Tiegan Riddoch (14) they asked family, friends and neighbours to help with donations of soap, shampoo and other toiletries.

They left a box outside their garden gate in Ross Crescent and it quickly filled up.

After handing in the generous donation at the hospital, Jayden turned his attention to helping local police officers.

Donna said: “He asked if we could collect some biscuits and sweets for them and encouraged me to ask my colleagues at Poundland in Stirling to also put out the word.”

But the pair kept up their collections and have already made a second donation to both the hospital and the police.

Donna added: “I’m very proud of them both. They are both determined to help our community at this time.”
