Baby of the week: Camelon tot Zayn McCormick

Mum Fiona McCormick, 36, is a staff nurse, while dad Kevin McCormick, 50, is a specialist floor fitter. Zayn has two brothers – Zander, aged six and Zach who is one. They live in Camelon.

The pregnancy was considered a high risk as mum had HELLP syndrome and pre-eclampsia in her previous pregnancies, so had regular scans and monitoring.

Zayn was born by emergency c-section one month early as mum started getting sick.

Mum and dad chose his name as they wanted it to be a Z name along with his brothers.

Zayn is a very laid back, smiley, happy boy.

His grandparents are nana Christina, grandad Billy and granny Jackie, and the late and sadly missed Rita, George and Alex.

Mum and dad would like to thank Zayn’s Nana for coming to theatre for his delivery and for being there every step of the way to help after his birth.
