Over-50s group making it happen in Falkirk
The Make It Happen Forum for the over-50s is a “proactive” group serving Falkirk district which helped form the Falkirk branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A), which provides life-enhancing and life-changing opportunities for retired and semi-retired people.
They worked with First Bus last August to form route changes in Denny and Bonnybridge which have made a positive difference to older people in those communities.

Hide AdOne campaign saw volunteer members produce a report to send to Falkirk Council suggesting alternatives to the proposed closure of public toilets. Another success came from working with Asda Grangemouth to provide transport from a lunch club to the store after Tesco closed.
Development worker Kay Wood said: “Following discussions with local residents at meetings throughout the District this Forum was formally launched in November 2014.
“The aims of the forum are to give those over 50 a collective voice, raise issues of concerns with the relevant public bodies and to be involved in consultations and engage with policy decision makers.”
Make It Happen’s AGM will be held next Tuesday at Forth Valley Sensory Centre, Camelon from 2-3.30pm. To book a place or get involved call (01324) 712106.
