Advanced Motorists

The monthly meeting will take place tonight (Thursday) in the Smith Museum, Dumbarton Road, Stirling at 7.30 p.m. The speaker is IAM chief examiner Peter Rodger.

Fine Arts

This month’s lecture from Stirling Decorative and Fine Arts Society (SDFAS) is at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20. Mike Higginbottom BA MEd, formerly lecturer for the Universities of Nottingham, Birmingham, Keele, Sheffield and the WEA, will lecture on the celebration of Victorian architecture and engineering that is St Pancras Station. Astronomy Society

The Stirling Astronomical Society is delighted to welcome Pippa Goldschmidt PhD Astronomy and author of ‘The Falling Sky’. Pippa’s novel was runner up in the Dundee International Book Prize 2012 and was described by Stephen Fry as “a delicate and fascinating study of a life in which intellect and external microscopic and cosmic fields interact”. Come along to the next open meeting of the Stirling Astronomical Society tomorrow (Friday) at 7.30 p.m. in the Smith Art Gallery, Dumbarton Road, Stirling where Pippa will give her lecture. Open Day

A stoma open day meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 19 in the Golden Lion Hotel, Stirling, from noon to 3.30 p.m. Tea and coffee will be available. A speaker will share his personal treatment journey, and patient associations will be there along with companies showing new products.
